Rental Agreement

This Equipment Rental Agreement (“Agreement”) governs rental of equipment (“Equipment”) by JustRentLah LLP (“Lessor”) to customer (“Lessee”), whether booked via www.justrentlah.com (“Webshop”) or offline (e.g., WhatsApp, phone, email, social media).

An “Order” means the booking/invoice confirming Equipment, fees, and dates/times. “Lease” is the period Equipment is under Lessee’s responsibility, from “Collect From” (“Lease Start”) to “Return By” (“Lease End”) stated on Order. Rental fees are calculated from “Rent Start” date to “Rent End” date. Collection and return obligations follow “Collect From” and “Return By” date/time.

1. Acceptance
For Webshop orders, Agreement is accepted when Lessee checks “I have read and accept the rental agreement” and completes checkout. For offline orders, acceptance occurs when Lessee (or authorized proxy) signs, confirms acceptance, or makes any full or partial payment. Once accepted, Agreement is legally binding.

2. Order Approval, Checks, and Contact

Lessor may conduct reasonable checks (including identity/order details, payment/fraud screening, rental history, and publicly available information) and may approve, refuse, amend, or cancel an Order at its discretion. Lessee agrees Lessor may contact Lessee via call, SMS/WhatsApp, email, or other reasonable channels for rental-related matters. Lessor may make amendments to this Lease as necessary.

3. Verification Documents
Before any Equipment is released, the Lessee must provide requested verification documents, which may include:

  • Government-issued ID (physical or digital copy, e.g., Singpass App); and
  • Proof of residence (“POR”) (physical or digital copy).

POR must show the Lessee’s full name, current address, and issue date within the last three (3) months (e.g., utility, bank/credit card, telco, insurance statement). Documents are assessed case-by-case and additional/alternative documents may be required.

For international customers, additional documents may be required (e.g., passport biodata page, POR, Singapore accommodation details, travel itinerary).

If required documents are not provided by collection/hand-over, the Equipment will not be released and the Order will be treated as cancelled, with cancellation fees applied.

4. Use Outside Singapore
Lessees without valid Singapore residency status must not bring Equipment out of Singapore. This restriction does not apply to Lessees with valid Singapore residency.

5. Payment
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all rental fees, deposits, and delivery/pick-up charges (if any) must be paid in full in advance.

6. Security Deposits and Overpayments

After return and inspection, refundable deposits/overpayments (less deductions) are refunded to the original payment method unless otherwise instructed. Processing typically takes 5–10 business days (bank/provider dependent).

7. Rental Period and Grace Period
Lease starts at “Collect From” and ends at “Return By” stated on invoice/contract. Equipment must be returned by “Return By”. A 30-minute grace period applies; once exceeded, late charges may apply.

8. Availability and Out-of-Stock Situations
Availability is based on expected on-time returns. If any Equipment becomes unavailable, Lessor will notify Lessee and may offer reasonable substitutes, or Lessee may cancel affected item(s) or Order.

9. Cancellations Charges and Change of Dates
Cancellation fees apply to rental fees only (refundable deposits and delivery/pick-up fees are excluded). Special order items are strictly non-refundable. Cancellation charges are as follow:

  • Less than 24 hours’ notice: 100% of total rental fees
  • 24 to less than 72-hours’ notice: 50% of total rental fees
  • 72 hours or more notice: 15% of total rental fees
  • Same day order/s & cancellations: 15% of total rental fees
  • Special order items include subrentals and custom-sourced equipment arranged specifically for the Lessee.

Lessee may request a one-time change to the rental date(s) within 90 days of the original Collect From date/time. Rescheduling is subject to availability and any price differences. No refunds, credits, or further date changes will be provided after the reschedule is confirmed.

10. Early Returns
No refunds, discounts, or credits are provided for early returns or unused Equipment.

11. Late Returns and Non-Return
If Lessee does not request an extension before “Return By”, Lessor may treat Lease as extended and charge late/extension fees. If extension is not possible due to conflicting bookings, Lessor will inform Lessee; late return without prior notice may also incur an inconvenience fee equivalent to 1–14 days’ rent, in addition to late/extension fees.

3 days late (non-return): If not returned within 3 days after “Return By”, Lessor may deem it a non-return and charge replacement value.
7 days late (default): If not returned within 7 days after “Return By”, Lessee will be in default and Lessor may escalate recovery.

12. Delivery and Pick Up Service
Unless otherwise agreed, the Lessee bears delivery and return pick-up charges. Delivery/pick-up timings are estimates. Delays do not justify cancellation unless caused by the Lessor’s gross negligence. Additional charges may apply for failed attempts due to the Lessee’s unavailability or inability to receive/return the Equipment.

13. Insurance
No insurance is provided by Lessor. If Lessee arranges insurance, it must cover the Equipment while in Lessee’s care, custody, or control. Lessee remains responsible for all loss/damage charges regardless of claim outcome. Lessor may provide reasonable supporting documents where available.

14. Repairs & Alterations
Lessee must not attempt to repair, open, service, or materially alter the Equipment without Lessor’s written consent.

15. Damage, Missing Items and Cleaning
Lessee shall keep the Equipment in good working order without material modifications

  • If modifications are made, Lessee is responsible for reasonable restoration costs.
  • Lessee assumes full risk of any damage, including damage during transit by non–Lessor-appointed couriers.
  • Damage not reported within 24 hours of receipt is considered to have occurred during the Lease.
  • Repair and replacement costs will be based on commercial reasonableness.
  • If the timing of damage is disputed, Equipment will be assessed by an independent repair facility, and its assessment is final.
  • A cleaning fee may apply if Equipment is returned with powder, dirt, sand, mud, or other substances.
  • An inconvenience fee of 1 to 14 days’ rent may apply for downtime caused by damage, malfunction, or missing items/components (separate from repair/replacement charges).

16. Loss or Theft
Lessee assumes the risk of loss/theft and must report it within 24 hours. If the Equipment is not returned, additional rent and/or an inconvenience fee may apply until it is returned or fully paid for. Lessee remains liable for the full replacement value and related costs. Non-payment may constitute default.

17. Non-Working Equipment
Lessee must report malfunctions/damage within 24 hours of receipt; otherwise, Equipment is deemed in good working order. Where the Equipment is determined to be non-functional due to no fault of the Lessee, Lessor may replace or refund (at its discretion). If Lessee-caused damage is suspected, a professional repair facility’s finding on cause, liability, and costs are final and binding.

18. Return, Inspection and Data
At lease end, Lessee must return Equipment in good working order, excluding normal wear. Lessor’s acceptance doesn’t confirm condition. Lessor may inspect for damage within a reasonable time. Lessee must remove all personal items and data; Lessor is not responsible for lost property.

19. Indemnity
Lessee indemnifies Lessor against any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from Equipment use.

20. Default & Recovery
On default, all amounts owed become immediately due. Lessor may recover outstanding sums, including interest on overdue amounts at 2% per month (24% p.a.), engage debt recovery, recover reasonable collection/legal costs, repossess Equipment where permitted by law, and pursue other legal or equitable remedies.

21. Ownership
Equipment remains Lessor’s property throughout Lease.

22. Warranty of Authority
For collection by proxy, Lessee must be verified and warrants that any person accepting the Equipment on Lessee’s behalf is duly authorised. Lessor may request identification from the proxy before releasing the Equipment.

23. Data Storage
Lessee acknowledges the Lessor is not liable for any data loss or failure to save on any storage medium provided (external or built-in).

24. Age
By entering into this agreement, Lessee confirms they are at least 18 years old. If under 18, Lessee must have parental or guardian authorization.
