It’s noticeably more compact than the original GM, dropping roughly 20% of the weight and about 1cm in length, which makes a real difference on gimbals and long handheld shoots. You still get a bright constant f/2.8 aperture, but with crisper edge-to-edge sharpness, faster, quieter autofocus, reduced focus breathing and better flare control, making it an ideal choice for high-end stills and video on bodies like the a7 IV, a7R V and FX3.
